69-912 Ignition Question
 

I came across a Crane-Allison XR700 electronic ignition upgrade at www.mesaperfomance.com and was wondering if anyone had tried this on their 912?

What it does is replace the ignition points and rotor with an optical electronic ignition.

I have no experience with that ignition but fitted a Petronix kit three years ago. I can recommend it. Advantages:
-cheap
-easy to install (30min max)
-not visible, fits completely inside 050 distributor
-no need for capacitor (less parts=less trouble)
-no points to change forever
