Weber Problem

Engine is out of the car, and I found that the small side plate of the Weber carb, and its gasket, has fallen off of the carb. Its fallen off the carb that is to the left when looking in the engine compartment. Before I go through taking off the carb and having to order a new gasket, I'd like to know what this plate and gasket do.

Efrain,

I believe that the plate covers an optional choke circuit assembly that is used on some vehicles.
If you do not cover it, it will suck air under the butterfly.
Later, JMB...
