1. The parts to put a 914 (912e) motor in a 911.

1. Engine bar, good luck finding one.

2. Thermal reactors, dunno, but you can buy replacement bypass pipes for $250.

3. Weld in engine mounts.

4. Heat exchangers, about $1200 apeice new (I think) used aren't real easy to find.

5. 923 tranny or a 915 with a smaller (unique) input shaft to fit the T-4.

6. Bursch 912e muffler $250

7. 914 tach, $20. One that dosen't bounce $100

8. 912e clutch cable $50 throttle cable $50

9. Tin ware, god help you... Maybe if you can weld you could bastardize something between 914 2.0L tin (hard enough to find) and some T-4 bus and 911 tin.

10. The motor only has 88-110 hp with FI so plan on a new rotary compressor ($250) and both a front and rear condensor set up with electric fans. The "tri-pod" belt drive system froma T-4 bus will work but I've had trouble myself finding one.

All in all, it would be much simpler to buy a good used 911 motor and add a Motronic or Haltech FI. imho

There's a thread here concerning adapting a type4 into a 911. Check it out-very informative with some links. JP covered it all in the above post, but I'll add to forget about the AC, as with 88hp, the car almost does a backflip when you turn on the AC at speed.

Hello

Engine mount and header/exhaust can be made under usage from VW Bus parts or type 4 performance parts. Hughe market and selection in germany and the states is following up.

Also used parts are easy to get as most 912E where convertet to 911 or V8 engines.

If you have a 901 trany it is a bolt on while a 915 trany needs the 923 engine/trany parts for the clutch release.

I would not recomend hydraulic lifters.

T4 can be pushed up to 150 solid HP but this is cost extensive and you have to swap to CIS or Motronic.

Grüsse
