Battery Recomendation

Any recommendation as to what brand battery and style or model # for my little Greta. She's in need of a new battery and I have never bought one for a 912 before. I hope to get a few pics up in the next few days. Thanks......Mike

Buy the optima. No acid to leak and cause rust. It's alot cheaper than replacing rusty panels. Good luck.

Don't Optima batteries require a custom tray? I've used an Interstate and it works fine; what I would want to try are Hawker gel-cell batteries, which is what we use in the race cars.

I always get the biggest battery with the most cranking amperage I could fit in the battery box area. The $29.99 ones at Wal-mart work REALLY nice.

Like Josh said, grab thirty bucks, run on down to Pep Boys/Walmart, etc. & grab the biggest one you can fit in there, then take another ten & buy a battery box/cover. You'll get more than enough reserve cranking power, save money & add some good wieght to the front of the car. I knew a few 911 SCCA racers in the 70's who would stick a marine deep-cycle behemoth up there just for the wieght on the nose.

Yeap the Wal-Mart ones work great. Or Advance AutoParts silver line.
