New webers ? engine drop

Am I going to have to drop the engine to replace the worn
out solexes and intakes with new ones? Going to get the
weber kit from our host - any comments will be appreciated.

Harry H if you see this, how diffficult was it to just drop your
engine without the tranny-I saw your pics about your valve
dillema on the 911 bbs.

The instructions say to drop the engine to get to the bolts for the manifolds. It looks like it may be possible with the access panels opened up but I never tried it. I got lazy and left my old weber manifolds on when I upgraded to new webers. I'll change them over when I drop the engine to get at that pesky oil cooler leak someday. From what I've read on posts and my "Secrets of the inner circle" book It isn't that difficult or time consuming to drop the engine, but I've never tried it yet so hopefully someone that has will answer your question here.

not hard. you need to have a book so you know what to disconnect and what to take out & when. have a friend help. a second set of eyes and arms goes along way. (especially when unbolting engine from gearbox.

when splitting the two after all the work has been done to disconnect all wire, cables and fuel lines, (as well as making sure car is on jack stands)
make sure engine is supported by jack and gear box has jack stand underneath
unbolt engine from gear box (dont split).. then unbolt engine mounts

when you split the two, after engine and tranny are unbolted, gently wiggle the engine back so you have a fe inches of space. slide ratchet strps down in the space, around the gear box and hook em to the strut posts in the back. this supports the engine.

also a jack stand under the gear box works well too. i used both.

next continue to wiggle and slide the engine away from the gear box, and then drop it. worked fine for me

disclaimer
not im not a pro.. im not an expert.. these are things that helped me.. THIS IS AN AMATURE"S DESCRIPTION there fore you should not do what i do.. so dont do what i did.
