Starter valves in Weber's 40 IDF
I am rebuilding/clening my 40 IDF's and found that there are starter valves in my set. There is no choke or starter assembly . Should I remove the valves and springs or do they serve a purpose?

I'm not sure what you mean by starter valves but Webers in our applications don't have chokes. My kit came with block off plates which eliminates the choke component.

You have to leave them in, When the orginal starter plate is installed witht the arm it slides those brass valves up and lets extra fuel thru the starter jets, just make sure the valves are closed with spring pressure on them to keep them closed and use your block off plate.

Will do. I couldn't find what they were on the current blow up diagrams, until I dug out an old Haynes manual that listed them.
Thanks |
