				912 gas pedal

I have a '67 912 Targa that I am trying to get back on the road. I am running into a problem connecting the throttle linkage to the foot pedal in the passenger compartment- it won't stay on. It will snap into place but as soon as you step on the gas it comes off. Anyone run into the same problem or have a solution?

Is your throttle bell crank hanging up on the tunnel? As theese pedals age, they tend to rust. Rust is bad, if your pedal is rusty it might bend. If your pedal bends, it will not push on the throttle bell crank correctly and the bell crank will bend. If your throttle bell crank is bent, it might hang on the opening to the tunnel. Ask me how I know this... I was having trouble with the throttle sticking on my '68 and discovered that the bell crank had bent to the extent that it was not returning fully (hanging on the tunnel), casuing the accel rod to pop off the pedal and the throttle to stick partially open. -Chris

				gas pedal

Chris, Thanks. I have replaced most of the hardware except for the throttle linkage running in the tunnel, it seems the connection where the throttle snaps onto the gas pedal doesn't fit snug enough to stay attached when the pedal is fully depressed. | ||
