Scituate, Ma Swap meet May 8th 10:00 AM
Hi, Please reconfirm on this post that you are coming. Last count I had about 25 cars but that was a week or so ago. I would hate to have somebody drive all the way down and exoect more cars. Also, I will be posting on a bunch of boards but probably for the best idea of the number of cars coming, check the 911 board on Pelican and Rennlist. That is where I seemed to have gotten the most response in the past.
See directions below. Thanks, David Directions to Peggotty Beach in Scituate, Ma for May 8th 10:00 swap/gathering. I basically took the directions off of Mapquest and modified so don’t be alarmed by missing steps. Also, please not that if you are coming from the Cape, same exit as step 8 but go right off exit (skip step 9 and proceed to step 10). At Braintree Split where Route 3 South and 93/128 heads towards Cape Cod which is step 7:. 7: Take MA-3 S. 8.4 miles Map 8: Take the RT-53 N exit- exit number 13- toward RT-123/NORWELL/HINGHAM. 9: Turn LEFT onto MA-53/WASHINGTON ST. (on MA-53 you’ll pass a Joe’s Bar and Grill on the right.) 10: Turn RIGHT onto WEBSTER ST/MA-123. Continue to follow MA-123. State Police Barrack on 123 and Norwell Police can be a bit tough so keep it slow through Norwell. Stay straight on 123 until you get to 3A. Go straight across at lights and then bear right (50 yards) and then at Stop sign ( 20 yards) go straight across onto the Driftway. Continue on Driftway and will see a Dunkin Donut on right within a minute. Stay straight on Driftway a couple miles until stop sign (Beginning of Harbor area – St. Mary’s will be on your left) Take right at Stop Sign onto Edward Foster Rd. (now heading toward ocean) ¼ mile take right onto Peggotty Beach Road Take first right and enter Peggotty Beach Parking Lot. Oh, if you get lost do not ask for the harbor. Ask for the Habaa. See you there. |

Here Are Some Pics From Scituate John's early 911E. I believe it is a 1969 and was therefore the earliest car on site. The classic smile that launched a thousand love affairs with the road... No matter how many times we repeat the phrase "FIVE HUNDRED HORSEPOWER", it cannot be said enough. It is a shame my digicam wasn't good enough to capture the beauty of the fabrication work. You really gotta see this thing. I believe it also comes equipped with an altimiter and sonic boom suppressor. Everyone drooled over this thing. And the pics don't do it justice. I could not get a good picture of the interior with the signature seats and the chrome gauge rings. Your loss. However, I did manage to get a shot of the fuchs. It was a good thing I was wearing sunglasses. I happen to love the aesthetics of the 928 overlapping intake manifold. And this car has the whole thing powdercoated to highlight the beauty. I took a couple of pictures of this engine trying to get it just right. Oh yeah, it also comes with well over 300hp of mean, raw, V8 gofast. The thing sounded like a freaking beast when it fired up. Everyone is so taken with Harlequin Dave's color that they overlook the radically cool exhaust pipes, the 'R' tail lights, and the fact that his fan blade is painted to match the green exterior of his car !! Dave, I know you are thinking of shortening the pipes, but please reconsider. Those things are MEAN !! Again, my crappy camera did not do justice. This is DeanP's first 911 and (unlike me) he won the Porsche lottery and got a sweet car on his first try. I tried to get the shine of the targa roll bar. The real deal. A 3.0 Carrera. I believe this one is Dave Argeo's, our organizer. I met Dave about a year and a half ago at Chris Bennet's house when we rebuilt Dave's 915 tranny. I believe Chris has a picture of us all on the internet somewhere heating up our pizza with a heat gun in his garage. I think 700 degree pizza will definitely burn the roof of your mouth. Two friends captured in a candid moment together. Bummer I didn't get pics of the early 912, the Boxster, or the gorgeous 968 that showed up. I'll be quicker with the camera next year. Thanks to Dave for doing all the organizational work !!
