67 912 value

I am considering purchasing a running 1967 912 for 2500 from a neighbor. There is a little rust in the light buckets but thats about all i can find. The car has about 170000 miles and 60,000 on a rebuild. Is this a good price. Also if there are any reasons to steer clear of a 67 id like to know those or if there are any disadvantages. $2500 isn't a bad price for a running '67. You might want to check some of the more common rust areas before you commit to a purchase. Look real carefully under the car at the floor pans front and rear, at the torsion bar supports (just before the rearwheels), the front pan. Then look under the front hood, remove the carpet and check inside of the smugglers hatch for rust, check the front shock towers and have the owner remove the battery so you can check the tray underneath. Most of these rust problems are repairable for a price. You get what you pay for and a $2500 car is certainly going to cost you more $$$ down the road once you get to know the in's and out's of these cars. 1967 isn't a bad year at all. thanks and i have checked all those other areas for rust and didnt see any . and the price he was asking was 5200 but for me it was 2500 because of being his neighbor and knowing him a bit.

i've been prowling the classifieds here in Los Angeles for 9 months now and *gosh darn it*.. 912 prices have risen and stable above 2500!


anyhoo... i sure wish someone would give me a deal steal on crappy 912 that runs!

I paid $2300 for a 67 912 without an engine. (I should note the car is ridiculously clean and 100% rust free) but a solid running engine is worth about $1800-$2000 in these parrts, so a whole car for $2500 sounds like a good deal.

Anything less than $6000 for a running 912 is a steal. For a mere $2500, I'd take it and run!

Even if you have to spend $10,000 more, you've still got a keeper that's sure to rise in value as time marches on.

geeeezzzzz I wish I had neighbors like that! Disadvantages are its too old, you will hate the car, its the wrong color, pass on this one, Now whats the guys name and phone number......lol
