912 stroke and p/c's

Hey all-
Got the 912 home, engine is out, torn down.
Great solid lower end, but :
1 burned intake valve
2 bent pushrods
1 broken ring land
front calipers are "dragging" ALOT - not quite siezed.

Has a couterweighted crank and 4 ring pistons with no identifying marks.
When I turn the engine by hand if I don't lift slightly on the small rod end, the lower rod nut hits the cam lobe.
I dont remember this happening on my 356 S-90 I rebuilt.
Is it normal or is it stroked?
Anyone identify the pistons for me?
TIA
Bob O
P.S.
Since theres no 912 classifieds:
I need 1 piston (w or w/o cyl)
2 pushrods
Maybe a couple valves.
Also Looking for a windshield in the Pac NW

They look like NPR pistons (cheap)? Or could be Auto-craft which were better, look at the base of the cylinder, does is have an AC cast into it? Thats what I had in my engine NPR, broken lands is common, I would not reuse any of them, get a set of J&E (shasta) p&c's They are great but $$$$

Bob, from the skirt & crown it looks like an NPR big bore piston. Measure it-if it is 86mm no doubt about it. You can buy repo NPR's again for @$600 set of 4 w/ cyls. Craig is right, the JE/Shasta are the nicest ones you can get anymore but last time I checked they were @ $1200+ a set w/ cylinders.
You can still buy 86mm rings for @$70 a complete set, but I'd be real wary about re-using the other 3 p/c's unless a good machine shop went thru them very carefully (zyglow pistons; tolerance-wear etc). That will cost more than a few $$ just to find out they are probably out of spec. Every once in a while some individual engine parts you are looking for pop up on Ebay. Check some of the recycle places like EASY in CA.
When buying used valves, ask the wear questions on valves-you could end up with worse than you had. If memory serves me right I think stem wear limit is 0.120 max, but please double check. Also, make sure your push rods roll out 100% straight.
All in all, go for four new p/c's is my $.02 recommendation. Good luck.
Cheers.

Hey, yeah. Not bad.
I actually found several places willing to sell NPR singles.
The shop I used to work for here locally has 2 sets of the factory Mahle's in good shape though.
I am thinking of bringing one of those sets back to life.
The other set is available also, I can get pic's next week if anyone is looking.
And whats going rate for the Mahles? What should I pay?
