EFI to Carbs
Guys
I'm rebuilding the type 4 out of my 912e this winter and plan to remove the efi and run carbs. I'm thinking of a pair of Weber 44IDFs, has anyone had any experience of these or would recommend a different setup. I'm governed by cost, ease of use/fitting, tractibility and efficiency. The car will is stuck between being a daily driver and weekend road warrior. Cheers Nige |

Hey there Coldbass
I'll be going to 2.1 with the motor and have a wilder cam, and some mild head work along with a stainless header and muffler. Been contemplating keeping the stock EFI but unsure whether it will restrict the perforamce of the motor over a good carb setup. |

Well, personally I would keep the EFI. Once my motor is complete, it will be dyno'd. I will then share as much info as possible. Using that displacement, I would think that its contingent on how radical a cam you plan to use.

Sounds great to me.
I personally prefer Dellortos- I have them on my 912 / 914 and VW truck. Very knowledgable people think my 914 still has the Fuel Injection- they are that smooth. But Webers are good too. Go kick ass. -Bob O
