What's it worth?
Hi, I have a friend who'll be selling his 912 in good condition but w/o the motor. He'll take the motor out to put in a 356 coupe he's restoring. Everything in the 912 is in good condition (I've not seen the car - that's his description). I'll take photos this weekend of the 912 and post it here. Just wondering what the car might be worth. Thanks.

Expect to pay 7 to 8 thousand for a good rebuilt motor.equal that into the equation. You might be able to get a good complete 912 for that price.

I drove mine home and paid 4K, the car had not run in 5 years and the body and paint was near perfect; depending on the conditon of body, interior, is it complete and stock? offer him $1000.00, you can always go up if you have to have it. Engines can be had for $1000.00 and rebuilt for 2K, if you know what your doing, and that's doing it nice, but you need to do most of the work yourself.....if you are no mechanic expect to pay.
let us know, Chas. 912 356

A roller without and engine is worth $750 to $3000 depending on model, originalality, and fitness.
You could plop a VW engine or, with a little help from Altporsche but in a Subaru powerplant. Bottom line? Have fun and enjoy it. |
