1966 912 For Sale!!!

1966 model year, original California 912. This car was purchased new in 1965 by my grandfather who willed to be because of my love for cars… That is the underlying problem. I have too many and have decided my attention and time are in other areas. I would like this classic to go to somebody that has the time, patients and love for these vehicles to enjoy it. I know the entire history of this vehicle and have all the records from when I became the owner in 1999. I did an extensive amount of work on the vehicle and have not driven it much. I start it and bring it to temp along with a quick trip around the block at least twice a month to keep things in order. The last official tune up and valve adjustment was at 30846 miles (this is rolled once – 130846) and there is currently 31408 (131408) on the ticker… Like I said, I do not have the time to devote to this machine. I will list some of the items that I have done to the vehicle to restore it to as near as I could afford (or find) the parts and time to do so… Every item on this vehicle is functional and in good to excellent condition. As noted there is rust in the front cross member, which can be replaced with new metal and welded in… contact me if you would like the procedure for this replacement. Again, I just do not have the time to do it…

Engine bay
New flywheel, clutch and pressure plate
New throw out bearing
New gland nut
Original Solex carburetors
Replaced all original heating and venting tubes
Replaced both motor mounts
New hood shocks
New air cleaners w/ original assemblies
New oil filter, cooler and seals
New original distributor
New coil, wires, cap, rotor, points
New sound proofing pad
Powder coated all tin
Gold parts are TiN (Titanium Nitride) coated
Case numbers (all three) were matched to be original to vehicle

Interior
Restored dash – 3 gauge
Installed original Becker Europa radio and dash spkr
Replaced door panels (no speakers)
New shifter/e-brake boots
New seat belts
Original Headliner is excellent
Original entry lighting is functional
Ignition key bezel needs replacement - Tough find to get original!!!

Exterior
Painted white – Original color is ivory
New windshield washer system
New fuses/lights
Original wiper arms – painted to spec
Original rims and hubcaps
Rust on the front cross member (common location)
Missing script on rear deck lid
