Seat belt hardware
Anyone know the size of the bolt or eye bolt that fits into the stock seat belt attachment points?. My 68 came sans-seat belts and I need to know what hardware I'll need. I'd like to do a 3 point non-retractable, any idea how long it has to be?. Did a search here and not enough info to go on. But found them from anywhere from $30/set to $170.00/set.
Thanks |

I've seen a couple non retractable 3 point set ups- not real pretty, unless you do something aftermarket and clean.
The original style 3-point deals probably take 5 minutes to untangle /untwist every time you put them on. I had an original one for my drivers seat and it was a tragety- I think I tossed it eventually. And I think the shoulder belt went aaalll the way back and hooked to the eye-bolt under the rear window. There's gotta be a better way. Bob O

Cobra;
Here are a few photos from what I think is a stock, or at least period-installed setup. Measurements are approx. Hope this helps. Bill.

Wow, thanks for going through all of the trouble to take pictures and diagram. That's exactly what i needed. I did find that the attachment bolts in the attachment points are 7/16 x 20. I measured 11mm, but couldn't find an 11mm bolt anywhere. So tried the 7/16 and it fits perfectly. Don't know why, but after 37 years anything could have been done.
Thanks Again David |

While we're on the subject, does anyone have or know where I can find the "adjuster" for the front belts? Mine (the one) looks like a buckle from a baby's car seat (except metal). The belt weaves through and is held tight by pressure. Any help would be AWESOME.
