			Before replacing the fan belt, connect the battery lead to terminal D+/61 at the regulator for a few seconds.  The generator should run in the same direction as engine rotation.

			Duke, You are saying to take the lead that normally connects to the B+ terminal at the top and touch it to the D+/61 terminal.

			B+ to D+.  I have even used this once on a used one that somehow flaked out..... Only works on the mechanical ones though, I believe there are solid state versions out there too and I am not sure how this effects them..... Morrie
