Part name and/or location

I am in the process of restoring my wife's 1966 912 that we have had for 30+ years. In the engine bay, there are two foam rubber tubes on each side that run from the bottom rear to the top front. Although I have rebuilt the engine a couple of times, I have never paid any attention to these. They appear to be part of the rear window defrosting system, but I need to have a part name for them so I can order new ones. I have contacted a couple of parts sources, and they don't know what I am talking about. I need new ones as these are falling apart. I would appreciate a part name and a source for new ones. Thanks, Tom Lewis

I been waiting for someone smarter than me to answer this one.....does the car have a sun roof? If so could be the drain ducts.

I would never claim to be smarter than Clark but I do belive that I know what rosntom is asking about. I believe that these tubes are part of the heating system, they are used to heat the rear of the passenger comparment through those two small plastic tubes that go from the engine compartment to the bottom corners of the rear window. I cant help with a part number but i would try to contact parts obsolete, they might have it. Also, unless you really want the original part im sure you could use some other kind of tubing that you could find at a hardware store, such as the hose used for clothes dryers, if they make them that size. Godd luck.
