911sc owner, new to 912's
Hi everyone, didn't know there was so much traffic here.
I just purchased a 1965 912 with a 3.0 liter engine and SC brakes. It has a wooden steering wheel, 5 guages, Porsche script on the decklid is connected, and a 911 emblem on the back. I'd like to restore it with new paint, seals, interior that is looks original except I'd like to get either 3 or 5 point seatbelts , some good seats and a oil cooler in the front fender. Do you think I could find seats that will fit the original seat brackets? Enjoy the "before" pics... ![]()

Thanks Frank, I bought it thinking it was a 911. But I am very happy to have a 912. I'd like to clean it up and have it be a BIG sleeper! It has an 83SC engine with dual webers. OMG, it's quick!

atlporsche- I'll try and post a pic of the engine bay tomorrow. The 5 guage was added by the PO. Today I tore out all the interior, front seats, rear seats, panels, insulation and found some rust on the front floor pans and a little surface in a couple areas.

I would be careful driving this car fast. Yours is a short wheelbase model that was great with the 4 cylinder, but Porsche lengthened the wheelbase in 69 due to the dangerous handling characteristics with the 6cyl. engine in the short wheelbase.

Do a thorough check out and inspection of all of your brake equipment before you get on it too hard and really need them.

Thanks, I'll be careful and check everything regularly. There are SC brakes and the pads are fine.
I just pulled all the interior out and have found some rust on the parcel shelf and the rear seats. there are a couple of small holes. Can I weld a piece in there instead of cutting out the whole thing?
