Question about 912 Engine
 

Hello,

I am looking at a 1966 porsche 912. I'm pretty sure the engine is NOT original to the car. It is a 4 cylinder engine with the code SD042766. It looks to have had some modifications done to the engine mounts. Any ideas or a place I might search to see if this is a true porsche engine or a volkwagon engine? Just wanting to know so I can buy parts for the engine.

Can you post a pic of the engine in question, somebody will answer pretty quick then I bet. Better yet look at the 912bbs as C. Clark recommended and compare some of the engine pics from there.
