68 vs 69 front end

Can you use a 68 front end - fenders, hood, bumper on a 69?

I think you can, but there's subtle differences. Probably means it's pain. Like the the "horn grills" - they're different shape. And 69' had 2 batteries, not sure if it affects the shape or way the fenders go on, but it could slightly. Hoods should be the same?
Bumpers are different in details, but oughtta swap.
Go to www.912registry.org BBS, they'll give you the 100% right answer.

the fenders and hood will bolt right on but you will need new turn signal assy and horn grilles, you can reuse the headlamps..... Morrie

hood is the same up through 73
i think (99% sure) the bumper is the same too.
the fenders and horn grills will be different.

if you use 68 fenders on a 69 your car will look funky. (ie 69s had baby flares front and back. 68 did not. so, you would have small flares in the back, and flat in the front)

thanks

I will fix the fenders I have and use the hood and bumper from the 68. I triesd to sell the 68 but now it is going to become part donor for my brother's project 69 targa.

I saw a pair of fiberglass fenders on ebay - ad said they fit 65-69 but this post leads me to believe that they will bolt on but may not have the same look.

Thanks for the help

the front bumper mounts are different from 68 to 69. you will need to do some bracket fabrication......
