912e timing marks

Anyone got a diagram or info on how to mark up the fan/pulley with correct timing marks in relation to the key way or bolt holes. Mine doesn't appear to have any, neither on the outer lip or on its edge through the plug in the fan housing.

Your fan will only fit onto the crank assembly one way (the correct way). Make sure you torque the fan into place with the proper tightness.

Are you sure the fan you have is from your car originally?

Has it been painted, perhaps obscuring the marks?

I've abit of a airhead on this, I've found the mark on the impellor, just wasn'y looking hard enough.

Thing was I was expecting it to be where it was in relation to the notch in the distributor and no:1 spark plug. Turn out the engine builder had located the dissy drive shaft wrongly. Which confused me as I couln't rotate the dissy round enough to position the notch in its body.

Since I've removed the driveshaft, everything has become clear, hopefully!

Cheers

Well its totally become clear now that the damn thrust washer has fell in the case, *****

The engine still turns, all be tightly and with a squeek which I assume is the driveshaft sitting lower and binding with the cam gear?

Its never easy
