Best place to put jack stands

What do you guys think the best to put stands under the car to get the front suspension out is? Also you guy have any tips on anything I need to look out for like adjustments or anything?

The pinch welds inboard/aft of the wheel wells. Be careful. Check things several times before crawling around under there.

Thanks that is where I was thinking to put them, Is there some place forward of the wheel wells I could put some for backup and still allow for the pan drop

I place a 2 x 6 board long enough to pass all the way under the car and cut a notch so both of the pinch welds (either side) have a groove to fit down into. Jack stands of couse go under the board.

The only problem with thin wood, in my opinion, is it's tendency to split/crack under pressure. If you used an old railroad tie, that's one thing. But lumber yard dry pine splits too easily for me to trust my noggin with it.

Use two 2x4's or 2x6's screwed or nailed together if 1 makes you nervous. Personally I've used the 2x4 system front or rear with no problems, move the stands about 12 inches in from the body edge for better support if possible.
