Problems gearbox 912 Targa 1968
 

Hello,

I just bought a 1968 912 Targa with hard window.

After driving it for 200 km's the gearbox is having problems. I can't shift anymore for 3rd to 4th gear.

I can shift from 3rd gear to 5th gear and then from 5th back to 4th.

Can anyone help?

Did you check the clutch cable? Myabe the cutch went out? Smell anything funny before it went out?

I didn't smell anything.

The strange thing is that I can shift back from 5th to 4th gear.

Can it be something with the syncromesh?

I think it is more likely that your shift linkage either needs new bushings or is out of adjustment.

This is the place to start before you dig into the box.
