should I get this?
sup guys, Im new here and also new to the porsche scene.
Im looking to buy a porsche but dont know which one to get, im looking for one that doesnt break down easily. anyway I found a 1968 porsche 912 convert to the 911 turbro look. from the picture it look decent. the guy owned the car for almost 13 yrs. $12,000 1968 912 porsche converted in to 911 turbo look. New rebuilt engine with 100 miles. the engine was rebuilt 6 months ago is what he said. ![]() ![]() is that an ok price? are this car easy to work on? are the body parts interchanable with 911? and will this keep up with other cars in traffic? Run away from abominations like these. 12 grand will buy you a very clean 1978-1993 911SC, one of the all time great sportscars.
The 68 901 cars (911/912) still have the short wheelbase, and the 90 hp 912 engine, while reasonably spry and peppy for the 912, won't be happy about the extra weight this car has. It's a total sheep in wolf's clothing. Just my $.02

A 912 and a 911 are two different breeds that share a similar skin, if you want a 911 get one, if a 912 is your flavor get the real thing. This thing looks like a fake on all levels to me.
Good luck, Chas. 356 912

sorry, but that's just embarassing
having a 912 engine in a 912 is fine, nobody is going to think twice, unless you've modded the car to look like a turbo. I'd steer clear |

This car is a bad idea for many reasons. You are not dealing with VW Golf's here. Swapping to a 911 engine is very expensive...the engine and tranny alone will run you $5 grand without breaking a sweat.
That's without labor. You are barking up the wrong tree and need to understand that buying this car would be a very poor choice.

Run away from this Turbo Look wanna be , there are many nicest 912 in SoCal that will be very interesting to look at, look at the 912bbs for sale vehicles and mostly they are members of the registry.
