Fresh air intake

Hello,

Can anyone tell me what type and colour of filter material goes behind the fresh air intake grill? Thanks

i didnt think there was any material back there. mine had no evidence of any material being there. Just soaked the mesh in evaporust and painted it after. the aluminum trim piece cleaned up nicely.

It would have been painted black behind it. Other than the mesh, there is just the fiberglass rain catcher.

I bet you could use an electric knife to cut some foam material (dark gray would look nice) to approximate the original filter material. but down here in south MS i need all the air flow i can get.

Any type of filter material will absorb water like a sponge and start rusting the cowl area. Better to let the air through and have the water drain as it was designed to. Wonder if that filter is for some special application?
