Hi Dave
Any pic's? Might be tempted if you don't mind shipping to the UK, I'll need to weigh up the difference in cost as I am looking at getting a stainless steel pair of heat exchangers custom made, but I expect them to be rather expensive. I wouldn't be too interested in the muffler as I have a stainless one, but I think I know someone over who might be. |

I don't have any pics handy as they are still on my car but, basically, imagine a pair of 912E heat exchangers with the outer tin removed. They are from a car in the southern US so they are solid. I will ship anywhere and we can work on the cheapest method. The exhaust is coming off next weekend.

no problem, I more concerned about the condition.
I'm thinking of carefully removing the outer tin off mine and then reskinning them onto some good inners (yours), mine are heavily cracked and any welding just chases it further, I would also need to weld up new flanges as mine have be modded to accept VW t25 gaskets. The more I think about it now the more I think shelling out for full stainless repros might just be the better option. |

I don't mind taking photos and posting them once they are off the car. I think your plan in using mine would be a lot cheaper and easier than having new ones made. Plus, you'll still have to find a set of bypass pipes in order to mate to the heads. I'll include my bypass pipes also.

I'm just waiting an estimate from the exhaust builder, I decide what to do then, obviously I'd like it all stainless. If it goes in the the meatime that's cool.
I already have bypass pipes in stainless, its just the heat exchangers that remain in rusty steel. |
