Door removal for antenna removal?
The 912 Registry site search was not conclusive on this topic. I have a '66 912 ready for a nice Hirschman antenna. Is there a way without removing the door to remove the old antenna and placing the new one without wrecking the paint? I would appreciae a step by step please. Thanks, Jim

Removing the door is the easiest way believe it or not. You could tape up the edges of the fender and door and try and maneuver the old out and new one in. I did it this way but wouldn't recommend it. My paint didn't matter to me and left a few small scratches. get a 12 pin torque socket and have a friend hold the door while you undo the bolts. Same when putting the door back. Realigning the door is pretty easy.

antenna all done
Greg, Well I taped the edges, released the door stop bolt-plug but did not remove the door. No scratches and the all metal Hirschman looks so good on the '66. Jim
