Value of 1968 Targa - Soft window

Looking into a 1968 Soft Window Targa 912 and I would like to know what the current values are ranging.

Car is an older restoration with a fresh <2000 miles ago trans and engine rebuild. Everything else seems complete and correct. Probably an 8 or 9 out of 10.

I know it's hard to determine without seeing the car, just looking for ball park figures.

What does Excellence's last Market Value Report say?

Thanks,

Mark

Ask this over on the 912bbs site:
www.912bbs.org

You'll get a lot more answers there.

Oct. '07 Excellence says low of $10282, good $11691 and excellent $15650 for '68 912 targa. He doesn't distinguish between rear window types. Prices are same for '67's and they would all be soft.

Hmm,
It is not [or used to be] virgin Mary blue? Don't recall the original name for that color. I had such a one, ordered while I was in Vietnam. And then decided not to extend, though I was enjoying my work in the 101st Abn - I wanted to pick it up at the importer and DRIVE. Did so in May '68. Wish I still knew the serial #.
It went back to Europe '69-71, and I sold it in Kentucky when at Ft Knox, and I fell badly in love with a 911E Targa which I still have. I had the soft window zipper replaced under warranty, so the zipper on mine was visibly not original. The original zipper's teeth had square tips; the replacement was more like a helix.
Be sure to check for rust in the usual places - in '68 nothing was zinked yet.
