Just for everyones in info.

It seems that I made some rushed conclusions about Saval needs of these air-pumps. There not needed for a 912 but for some other Porsche applications. At least their not going on some Half-Breed Dwarf Race car !!!!

Lets hope Saval finds a home here on this BBS and lends his knowledge of Race motors to all the guys that could use some help sometimes !!!

Sorry, Bill

Setting the record straight

Bill Has No Idea What He Is Talking About. I Am The Engine Builder For A Vintage Porsche/ferrari Workshop In Austin, Tx (moorespeed.com).

And I Also Own And Drive A 1989 Carrera C4.

The Pumps Are Not Being Used For Any Motorcycle Powered Race Cars.

Thank You For Everyone Who Has Replied.

George

George,

You have to look at it from a long term board members' perspective. You appear from no where, looking for a rare and highly desirable part. Your first post on here AND the 912bbs is no introduction, no desire to become acquainted with anyone, just a demand for a part without a reason or background given. On the 912 bbs you posted in every forum. Either you are new to the internet itself, or have total disregard for protocol. The only time an identical post appears in multiple forums, is when a computer is posting as part of a script.

99% of the time, that throws up a red flag. Bill did a little detective work, and drew some conclusions. Perhaps if Bill put up a link, and asked if the scooter superchaging business was yours, things might be better.

I'm curious to see Bill's link. bring it, Bill.

sjd
now, let's all just get along.

Hey George,

Sorry it seems I'm a little harsh, but when you make the same posts on different BBS. Then when you say you found one but need two more whats one to think ??? These pumps are like gold to 68 912 owners. I have seem many 68 owners take years to get all the parts to replace missing ones that were taken off almost 40yrs ago. I'm sorry I said you didn't even own a Porsche, but got close as you don't have a 912 that needs this part. Or if you do why do you need three or more ????

Steve,

I did a Google search for Saval Racing AOL and found his email here:
http://www.hechassis.com/distributor.shtml

Which I did a another search for Saval Racing Technologies:
http://www.madcra.org/Troy%20Hudson.htm

Along with a few other pages about Saval Racing.

Saval,

I'm sorry I jumped to a conclusion on why you need the air-pumps. But all these BBS are for everyone helping each other out. I'm always curious why some people only want help, but never want to help others. If your a Porsche Mechanic I'm sure there's a few posts that your experience could help here or on the 912 BBS.

Once again I'm sorry I hurt your feelings !!!!!!!!!

Sorry, Bill

setting the record straight for the last time

I really can't believe this has gone this far. Let me first start by saying that I didn't read anywhere on the 912 boards stating that I couldn't post in multi regions of the country. My intentions were to reach as many people as possible. If I offended anyone I am truly sorry. Now I will speak my piece.

I did not put an add on the boards to make friends. I did it to find smog pumps for 1968 912s. If I were to make a friend during a transaction that would be great. I did nothing wrong. What I do with the pumps is my business and my business alone. You said that the pumps are sought after and that I demanded one. That is rubbish !!!!!! I asked very politely and finished with a thank you. How on earth is that demanding anything!!!!! And as for the pumps being a highly prized item that is laughable. Most of the people I have talked to told me they threw them in the trash a long time ago. Come on guys - we are talking about a smog pump here. I am using these pumps for my own personal use. This is my last post regarding this subject. I have realized that you can't please everyone and I'm not going to try. If you don't have anything positive to add please stay off this post.

Bill, saval racing has been closed since the end of 2003 and I did build motorcycle engines for 3/4 scale race cars. I no longer build them. The rules do not permit super or turbo charging of any kind
