Brake Pad Retainer Kit
I'm in the process of rebuilding the front brakes on my '76 912E #224. I bought pads, rotors, caliper rebuild kit and the brake pad retainer kit from Pelican. My E has solid rotors and 'A' calipers up front (stock configuration). All worked well except for the retainer kit (P/N 911-351-951-00). They are too wide and must be for the vented rotors with the spacer in the 'A' calipers. The new pins are also too long. The pins and retainers are of the correct design, but just too long/wide. Prior to the rebuild only one of the calipers had the retainer spring installed but is rusty, therefore not very springy.
What alternative P/N does one use for the E's skinny A-calipers? Pelican tells me I need the parts for an 'M' caliper but they are NLA. I have posted this message on the 912BBS, but have not gotten a response. ![]() Thanks, Fran 912E #224 |
