69 912 Oil Temp sensor

I noticed that my oil temp gauge doesn't work. I saw the sending unit behind the distributor. I removed the connection and grounded it. The temp gauge didn't respond, but the green light on the right side of the gauge lit up. This sending unit must be the oil pressure unit.

Then I saw another sending unit behind it with no wire attached. This hopefully is the temp sending unit.
Does anyone know what wire should be attached? What is the color code?

Send me a e-mail (click on my name) and I'll send you a PDF of the wiring for a 68, the wiring schematic for a 69 to my knowledge is unavailable for a 912. I'm not sure but I think the wiring you ask about is the same from 68 and 69.

The wiring diagram for all early 912s is the same only the 912E is different. The oil temp will have a green and black wire and the oil pressure will be red and green. The oil temp will be in C and be about 240 degrees and it looks just like the one used by the 911. Only the 912s is behind and below the oil pressure sender on the left side of the case and is the brass looking nut with a black and green wire attached. The 911 is in the front part of the case on the right hand side.

Thanks to Chas Clark and Jaems for the info.
My oil temp unit doesn't have a Green/Black wire on it. It has no wire on it. Upon further digging, I found a Green/Black wire on the primary side of the coil (the +12v side). ??? Any idea what this wire is? Is it the oil temp wire that the PO connected here?
Chas' wiring diagram doesn't show any green/black wire on the primary side.
How do check it?

I've got a 69, I'll check in the morning what my colors are let you know.
Chas.
