66 912 No bright headlights
I have spent the better part of 2 days trying to figure out why I have no brights. I can apply 12 vdc to #57 on the headlight switch, the grey and green wire that activates the bright relay and, voila, I have brights. My question is Where does #57 on the headlight switch get its power? Is it from the switch internally? I have to defer to Sterling that these curcuits are far from simple. The dims work fine and I have removed and cleaned the multiswitch. That is another complicated issue. Any help would be appreciated....Mar

from the headlights back. a white wire goes two the fuse box #11 and 12 fuses. on the other side of the #11 and 12 a white wire goes to the by-pass high beam relay at #56A. A green and white wire goes from this relay #57 to the light switch #57. At the light switch you will have two red wires at #30 one goes the the ignition switch #30 and one to the Fuse box at #2 fuse.
Unless you have a bad ignition switch, light switch, by pass relay, blow fuses, corroded fuse, high beam bulb, a broke wire, or combination of the list items. Your high beams should work as advertised. |
