40 IDF mixture problem

I have a pair of 40 IDF's on my '76 912E. I had a problem with the left carb having the rear cylinder WAY too rich and the forward cylinder a little too lean. The right carb is just fine. All jets and air correctors the same. The lean cylinder would pop through the carb, while I only get about 15 mpg.
I overhauled the carbs due to this problem.
It looks like the problem still is there. Anyone have any ideas?
Carbs are in sync.

Check that the idle jets are not clogged, this is a common weber problem...Mark

Thanks Mark.
Idle jets are clear, float level is 10mm, new gaskets, etc.

Jetting is a process with Webers, you could try different sizes, but I don't like mixing them up. I went up a size and turned down the mixture, that worked for me, I think I run 55 or 60's, my Webers came with 50 if memory serves.....every cylinder is an individual and has to be tuned accordingly.
best of luck,
Chas.
