Save a 912 -Car Talk

Last weekend on Car Talk there was a guy that wanted advice on whether he should use a 76 912 or a BMW to do his own home made electric car. The Car Talk guys told him to use the 912 because it's light.

I admit some of my facts in the original argument may be erroneous so I'm not looking for corrections on that, just seeing if any 912 guys wanted to jump on the post to keep it alive. Maybe make it onto the show.
