912 engine

I have an old porsche 912 engine that I inherited when my father passed away and I don't know what I want to do with it. He had intended to put it into his replica speedster kit car. I now own both the car and the engine. I'm not sure if I will keep the car or not. Is there anyone that knows enough about those engines to see if its worth while it keep it or just sell it.

Pictures? Type number and serial number? What kind of carbs? Original air cleaners and heating system intact? Many questions to help determine value.

Was it a known runner when "parked"? Mileage on the engine? How was it stored?

So many questions that I don't have very many answers for. I will get picks this weekend and post them as soon as I can.

I am up the road in St Augustine. If you are interested in selling the engine give me a shout and I will come down and check it out. I'm about to buy another 912 ('68) but it has no engine.

Some of the pictures from my 912 engine

The engine number is 744746 which I think makes it. 1966 engine.

Looks like it mostly there and appears to have been stored indoors. Probably worth $1500-2000 as a "core". If you put it in a car and ran it first, blew out the cobwebs and got some proper leakdown numbers on it, the value would probably double.

Regards,

Matt
