76 912E engine, what's it worth

I have a 76 912E rear clip complete with engine, fuel injection, trailing arms and tranny. Was wrecked and has sat in a field for several years, but it appears to be a complete drive train. What is it worth please?

It is worth more than the other 912 engines. That engine is a 2.0 914 engine that uses L-Jet fuel injection. This engine with the the L-Jet is unique to the 76 912E only. I have seen ads looking for this motor to rebuild. Also people that have takne off the FI to put on carbs then get caught by the smog cops are in a heap of trouble.

It is worth about $1,000.00, but it won't sell quick due to the limmited amount of 912E sold.

Good luck

9 years later?

Rick,
I am in Colorado and have a few spare type IV's. PM me the details of your situation and we'll see what I can do for you.
