transmission cover...

Hi
For a '68 912, what is the correct transmission cover panel that goes under the carpet in the back seat... Is it the slotted heater vent style or the solid cover ?
cheers
R

cover

If you have a gas heater use the slotted. If no gas heater then the solid cover. The slotted one runs air to the gas heater.

Carpet?

So ... should there be a carpet covering the metal cover? My 67 912 has the slotted metal cover with a black fibreboard piece underneath it - but no carpet.
What is correct?

The correct one is the vented metal cover. If you see one with carpet it was the owners personal touch.

Thanks for that Jaems. My '67 appears to be very original - but since this is my first 912 (have owned several early 70's 911s) these details are all "new" to me.
Looking forward to learning more as I go along.
