912 VIN. 453 190 what year built?

i have a 3 gage 912 that will be my next project and im filing for a new title and the dmv wants me to come up with the year i think it is. since 912s first year was 66 i think is that the year of this car?
what items can i look at to determine. the washer bag is mounted on the drivers side strut tower. the struts seem to be non adjustable. the car has a gas heater dated 1965. what else should i look at.

cheers ed

It is a 65 model year.

65 was the first year for the 912. It was for European delivery only. The 65 356sc was still being marketed in the US at this time. All 65 912 were brought in by private owners.
