Fire Damage
I just bought a 912E that had an engine fire. I believe the motor is rebuildable and the wiring replaceable. But I have no idea what engine bay components were burnt up or later removed. Can someone tell me how I can find out what is supposed to be back there in a car that has twin carbs and air conditioning?
I re-did a 911S a couple years ago. Is the 912E set-up pretty similar? Jack |

912e
Nice one, many of us were curious about what would happen to that car. Just as an FYI its pretty much the same layout but a lot less cramped back there ; )
Check in at 912bbs.org, there will be lots of E owners who can help, also dowloadable manuals Here are 2 pics to give you an idea, though my E retains the FI and has no AC Cnograts on the purchase. ![]() ![]()

Fire
Thanks for the photos. They help. Whenever you get a chance, could you send me a shot of what's inside each fender well beside the motor.
Thanks. Jack |
