SWB LWB doors

Are the doors the same size/dimensions on the SWB and LWB cars?
My SWB 68 has got a left door which doesn''t fit nicely. When shut the edge at the hinge side sticks out about 3mm. Halfway down the door everything lines up nicely again as is the rest of the door.
I suspect my 912 was involved in an accident somewhere in its live and the door was replaced with one taken from a LWB porsche. Is that possible?

Regards,

Hello

Generaly the door didn´t changed from 1963 to 1997 yet newer doors can be used in older cars but old doors will make to much work in new cars.

The last 993 doors need some 5-6 hours work to look like post 69 doors and now here is the point, the very early doors have a other inner frame and especially the form on the rear where the door lock sits is a slightly rised portion.

If originality is your goal you have to keep a eye on the details.

Hello

I know that I know nothing.

Compared to people I know.

Just a other point of view.

Nobody is perfect.

Hi guys. Thanks for this info. Great! I can now start to look for the correct door.
It gives me a good feeling that we can help eachother over this forum.
Thanks Pelican and Rick too!

Happy motoring,
