heating

does any one have any pictures of where the flapper boxes go and explain how and what i need to get heat into my car i don,t seem to have the flapper boxes or know where they would go many thanks brian

Jump om over to the 912bbs.org web site and search:

heater box, flapper box, heater valve

and you should find some results. There is a big difference from the USA heater and the Euro system so it is best to know if you have an import car.

Here is a rough idea in location for a USA car, the flapper box surrounds part of the exhaust pipe.

I think he may be referring to #11 in the picture. Those are the control valves that open and close that let hot air flow.

He will need both 11 and 14 to work in order to get hot air into the car. There are cables that control both items at once. They close them or open them and if only one opens or closes nothing will happen as far as forcing heat into the car. On mine one cable controled the top unit and the opposite side flapper box on the exhaust. Just spent the weekend getting it all back working myself.
