Is this muffler a original OEM
The muffler looks pretty solid but seems a bit to loud . If its a original I will consider keeping it on the car but if its not I will change it. Car sounds like a boat with through hull exhaust at idle but does sound great when you bring up the revs. It has not rusty weak spot but may be rotted inside if its really 34 years old.By the way you gotta love the new motor this car came with. This is on the marron 68` 912 from my last post.

My '68 had it's original muffler and there was a Porsche part # stamped on it. It was the same style as yours but it did not have the 2 brackets that attach to the sheetmetal. Mine had a center bracket that attached to the engine case (third piece).
Mine sounded like a POS. I bolted on a Bursch and it sounds nice. No carb adjustments needed.
