Question Chrome/Paint Question

The 912's chrome was painted over with black a while back but I want to go back to the chrome. Is there a way to strip the black paint without ruining the chrome? Thanks.

BTW, engine/tranny are being dropped tomorrow, 12/24!

Josh: I'd start with lacquer thinner, then move up to methyl alcohol, but lac. thinner will just about always do the job & not harm any chrome, etc. The only exception here is if by chance the PO used the good blackout stuff (i.e. Eastwood) you might have to use a paint stripper.

I had a similar situation where the previous owner painted the rear deck grill.....I went to the paint store and got a citrus based paint remover......worked great and no harm to the chrome!
