Aftermarket starter solinoid on my 69 912
As I have said in previous posts, Turkey had molested my car in the past and I'm trying to make it right again...In trying to start it for the first time since owning it I was met with a no crank/no click/no start...I found an aftermarket looking (Ford type) starter solinoid mounted to the floor pan just ahead of the torsion bar...it has two larger poles and one central small pole, each has a wire coming off of it..All three wires are cut and there are only two wires that I can see that are cut closer to the starter...One is a set of yellow wires that are tied together that go up into the engine compartment wiring harness and the other comes right off the stock starter solinoid....Any idea how to wire this thing?..
Thank you, Toby |

If it is truly the starter soleniod, you might be best off to simply replace the starter (or at least the soleniod on the starter) and try putting things back to where they are supposed to be. There are some who have installed a hard-start solenoid which could be what this is.
