912 distributor woes
The distributor ejected out of my third piece under decel, bending the hold down tab. The distributor spins freely and the engine cranks freely...I pulled the distributor drive gear out this afternoon and the brass gear is chewed up and there is a 1/2 tsp of ground brass down there...I know I have to pull the third piece and replace the gear but WTF do you think happend? I'm lost..

take it apart
i do not know what happened but i do know that you need to take the whole engine apart
