912 parts interchangeable with 914 parts

Does anyone know if some interior 914 parts are interchangeable with the 912? I was wondering about the steering wheel, gauges, ash tray, etc.

I would doubt - very few. Much is the same with early 911's.
Probably only way to really know is pull one and compare.. Lots of luck..

Hello

Sorry only the 1970/71 914/6 steering wheel will fit.

The only part direct interchangable is the speedo.

The tach has a different redline and the fuel/ temperatureinstrument a other scale too.

The 914/6 stalk switches will not work direct.

The shifter and knob will work ( but not from middle/sideshifter 914 ). Some relays are usable ( the round ones and the flasher relay ). The reset knob & drive from the tripodo. The ambient lever controls and the flaps can be modifeid to fit 912.

Finally some nuts and bolts will fit and you can interchange the frontaxle.

And all 1969 on 911 use the 914 ZF Steering.
