Hardening a 912 crank, yes or no

A question, must the 912 cranks be hardened or chromed after turning? I had mine turned down twice, but did it harden it yet. I am worried it might wear fast, and thoughts?

Grinding to the first under size is OK without rehardening. If you have to grind to the second under size you need to have the crank rehardened. Send it to Armondo at Custom Crank Repair (CCR). Have him remove the plugs in the crank to clean things up properly, check the radius of the journals and have it rehardened. Make sure that you can get proper bearings first as it might be more economical to simply get a new standard crank with bearings from NLA-********.
