Porsche Crest New Webers ?

Has anyone out there bought a new set of Webers recently ?? I'm looking to upgrade my tired out Solex to Weber 40's.

Any advice on where to look ? what price range ?? What to avoid ?

I live in Irealnd so I need a to find a reputable store who ships international ! I have seen a few "used" pairs advertised on Ebay but usually the sellers don't ship worldwide

thanks

Porsche Crest New carbs

Hello,
How's Ireland this time of year?
I shopped around and finally bought from CB Performance, they are a VW racing type company but they do have some stuff for 912 engines. Their setup was complete, new manifolds, all gaskets and carbs. I also ordered new carb linkage, makes them easy to set up. They had the best price too.

Try these guys, I use them and have seen them recommended in books and articles. Excellent service and good pricing.

Hi Dub,
If they will ship the ebay carbs to Canada, I will forward them to you for the cost of shipping.
I have purchased Weber parts from CB, the price was right and so was the service.

Good Luck!

As much as I like Claud's Buggies (CB Performance), shop around. Their setups aren't the best, and they really have no interest or knowledge about the 912. Trust me on this, as I live 30 minutes from Farmersville, and have been there many a times. They have tried to tell me how to setup the carbs, contrarty to what I said, and they have no clue. They are awesome with VW's, pathetic with Porsches. Look around, and see if you can get the the Solex adapters, not weber manifolds, and if you can get the 32mm venturis. Upgrading the webers is a totally different story. Claud's Buggies has awesome prices on jets, venturies, velocity stacks, air cleaners, etc. Just don't let them tell you what to get, ask this board.

Hi Dub

If you want to contact me off line I may be interested in selling my twin weber 40 IDFS, which are virtually new, and come with solex adapter plates / or weber manifolds and also the correct set up for our Porsches, ie 32 vens and the best jets/emulsion tubes so on. As Josh has mentioned new webers require a little more time and money to make them suitable for our 912 set-up. I spent a lot of time and money setting up these carbs correctly, ie dynos and much fine adjustment but at the moment they are sat on the shelf. They also come with brand new velocity stacks and a brand new filter set up. The only difference is that mine run a fuel return line form one carb as I was running a electric pump (which is advisable to get) this takes the pressure of the needle value and allows fuel to return to tank if necessary.
