912e Fuel Injection Parts For Sale

I have just changed out the electronic fuel injection in my 1976 912E, to a Weber carb. setup. The air box needs rebuilding, but most of the other parts are in fine shape. These include the computer, wiring harness w/ relays, fuel puump, EGR valve, Decel valve, Aux air valve, Throttle body assembly, cold start valve, air intake manifolds w/ injectors, air-meter box w air filter, throttle boot assembly, smog pump, air conditioning condenser, passenger compartment air fan, and most associated hoses, lines and fasteners. I will sell them as a lot, cheap, or piece them out. They all total $3388 in a recent catalogue. I will sell all for $800.00. E-mail me at macpac1@austin.rr.com. I have good clear photos of each part that I can e-mail to you.

I apologise first, as I'm not interested in your for sale items. But, I've been thinking of ditching all the fuel injection in favour of Webers on my 912e, I'd be interested to know how do you find the cars performance since the conversion? fuel consumption? ease of conversion? did you manage to do it while the engine was in situ? Sorry for all the questions but I would be very grateful for anyt of you views and opinions on the matter. Cheers Nige

 912E Changing EFI to Carbs

Nige-912E, The car's performance is essentailly reliable and adequate, not great. I'm sure the reason lies with the choice of economy over performance; I only installed one Weber Carb. The torque is way down, the speed and agility remain, it is not as responsive to throttle position, there is some lag. I'm sure many of these complaints vanish with 2 banks of 2 carbs each, such as a Weber 401DF kit, Performance part # 903587, $899.99 kit. This kit is designed just for this conversion. It is not a hard job and can be done in situ. Most of the parts now in the engine compartment relate to the EFI system.
