Talking You know the 912 board is growing when...

the topic you posted a week ago is on the next page! I was looking for my "am I crazy" post and started to think that I really was crazy. It wasn't on the first page, but on the second. 911 board watch out, the 912s are back, just like in 1966 when they out sold the 911s 2 to 1.

As always, little respect for our 4 cylinder cars. I have often wondered "what if..." there was a 4 cylinder option for a 993 or 996? How popular/affordable would that be?

Just thinkin out loud...

I bet a 4 cyl option would not be well received nowadays. Too much extra crap is bolted on the modern 911. All the extra weight requires the bigger motor. Yes, the new 911 are fast but can you imagine if Porsche made one without all the weight?

For many the deal is power and top speed rather than driving skill and lap times. I had some 20 something’s checking out my car and when they asked what my “quarters” were I said how should I know? I last a lot longer than that. The thought that you could have more fun at 100 MPH on a 10-turn track rather than in a line for 10 seconds went right over their heads.

I appreciate all the input from you guys and like watching more action on the board. It is tough sometimes though to keep up with the three boards I watch now. That is since I bought the 924S. But I still love 4Cyl......
