POLO engine 912 almost done.
A 1967 912 getting a POLO engine and other upgrades. It's getting close. I don't know how to post pictures. You can see pictures in the cmpski garage. Here is the link.
All the best, Chris PS- I hope to have it at Rennsport in October. We'll see. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/dto_garage.php?do=viewvehicle&vehicle_id=10031 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyWMnx1yxvc Last edited by cmpski; 08-14-2011 at 08:19 PM.. Reason: adding info |

Sweet. You bought it from Craig, right? His Coupe is really nice. The color, suspension, and engine. You will really love the Polopolos motor. What induction are you running? Megasquirt?

The guys in the 911 section would probably like this too. There is a lot more traffic there than in the 912 section.

I think a link would be fine, as it is a 912 so the moderators might not want to move it. You want me to link it with a picture of the car and a picture of the motor?

What does the timeline look like for getting the motor installed and the car running?
Craig is going to bring his concours Carrera to the expensive concours held in conjunction with Rennsport. I work with Clint at Rebel Racing after I met him through Cal Poly (I am doing Mechanical Engineering). You probably met him and saw his long hood 911 there at Craig's house.

I just gave it a try. If I did it wrong I'm sure they will fix it.

UTube added at the top of the thread.
Richard runs it easy for two reasons. One, it has less than 30 minutes on it. Two, I bought a used stainless muffler and had it sent strait to Dean Popolus. It had and still has a little oil in it. When it gets hot it smokes. I think he was trying to not fog up his video. It will be cleaned and polished. Custom heat exchangers will be added. Last edited by cmpski; 08-14-2011 at 08:36 PM.. |

It is a 911 engine with the middle cylinders cut out and a flat plane crankshaft, basically (that was how the first prototypes started, now they are bespoke crank cases and crankshafts). Designed by Dean Polopolos.
